Today in my psychology class, my teacher said something really important to me. She asked us, “Who do you have to live with, who do you have to like at the end of the day, and whose decisions do you have to live with?” Everyone in class answered with the same answer, which was yourself. She began telling us that we can’t expect others to deal with and love us when we don’t even do it ourselves. How can you lift up someone that only puts themself down? How can you have a positive, bright conversation with a negative, dark person? Loving yourself is pretty hard to do because of our society, friends, and sometimes family. Why can’t we accept the fact that everything the world says about us isn’t true? Though we lean on the world to tell us our worth, we fail to realize all this world does is lie to us. When will you and I finally realize that opinions do not mean reality? At the end of the day, no one truly knows who you are. Only you know, so it’s up to you to change or accept it. You can’t run away from learning how to deal with yourself, because when no one is there… who do you need? YOURSELF!
P.S. Don’t forget to tell yourself “Love You Self!”
