✨Years ago I had finally got out of a horrible relationship and it really broke me into pieces. I remember crying my eyes out because I felt like I wasn’t good enough, but really it was a blessing in disguise. The whole time I was in the relationship, I was trying to help him heal and get freed from his issues by using myself as a sacrifice. I sacrificed my feelings and my freedom for this guy that broke me in every way possible.
✨On the night we broke up, I remember crying to my granny and I will never forget what she told me, “Ashanti, stop trying to be Holy Ghost jr! You can’t make no one change, you can’t heal hurt people because all they will do is hurt you tryna heal. God is the only one that can do it and can make it last.”
✨So many times in our lives we meet people thinking WE alone can change them but we can’t! You will drive yourself crazy trying to heal a person and then end up having to heal yourself from all the pain they caused you in the process. Your healing is only a temporary fix for them, God’s healing will last forever and will free you from everything that has been holding you back. If you really love someone, stop trying to fix things you can’t control because you are really hurting them in the process.
✨For example, if a person has a problem with drinking and you try to FORCE them to stop drinking you will only cause more rage. You are not giving them a choice, you are controlling them. God loves us enough to give us a choice to do whatever we feel, but He makes it clear that he is there whenever we wanna come back home. When that person makes a mistake and drinks again, we get angry at them and put them down by calling them names, saying they will never be anything, saying we hate them, etc. That’s not love!! The journey isn’t gonna be perfect. God is strong enough to understand that, but our hearts can’t. All I’m tryna say is, free yourself of the worries of trying to heal and free someone else. Leave it all in God’s hands because His healing lasts forever 💕
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
